Host a Food & Fund Drive

Some groups organize their food & fund drive around a theme and friendly competition.

Over 4,000 pounds of peanut butter was donated during our Spread the Love campaign.

The Hogan Family YMCA in Madison decorated their food drive barrel to look like a soup can.

Does your business, school, or club want to host a Food & Fund drive?

Fantastic! It’s a such a fun way to give back. We’ll help you every step of the way!

  • Many businesses or clubs organize their food & fund drive around a friendly competition. Popular themes are the Iron Bowl (Alabama fans vs. Auburn fans), company department competitions, or grade levels at a school.
  • Get into the spirit by decorating your donation boxes and bins with a team theme like Super Heroes or holiday decorations like snowflakes.
  • Funds also go a long way. A $1 donation equals seven meals! To further reduce contact and the possible spread of Coronavirus, we would also ask that in lieu of bringing in food donations, those who would wish to support our efforts during this health crisis consider making a cash donation online at foodbanknorthal.org. These funds go a long way to feeding those in need, as every dollar donated provides seven meals to those in need.
  • If you host a fund drive, we can easily create a custom an online giving page just for you – just ask us at volunteer@fbofna.org.
  • Want to educate your colleagues about the work of the Food Bank and hunger in North Alabama? Share this flyer here.
  • Please send us photos of your drive – we would love to share the fun on social media!
  • What items are needed? Our wish list includes canned meats (tuna, chicken), canned vegetables, peanut butter, canned soups, chili, pasta, breakfast cereal, canned fruits, paper towels, toilet paper and diapers.
  • You can also make up your own flyer advertising your food drive. Share this at your location, and on social media. Check out samples here and here.
  • When your food drive ends, you can drop off the food donations to our facility anytime Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:00 pm. We are located at 225 SW Finney Dr. Huntsville, AL.
  • Thank you so much for thinking of our friends and neighbors at risk of hunger!
