Ending Child Hunger

Hunger has debilitating, lifelong effects on a child’s physical and cognitive development, behavior, and ability to succeed. It undermines that child’s well-being, the stability of her family, and the prosperity of her community.

Nearly one in four children in north Alabama are food insecure. Learn more about child hunger and the challenge we face in ending it in our region.

The Food Bank works with concerned citizens, churches, civic groups, and public officials on innovative initiatives to get food to children in need.
