Our Mission, Vision, Values

Our VISION is a hunger-free Virginia in a hunger-free America.

Our MISSION is to feed hungry people through a network of community organizations in central and western Virginia, and to engage our communities in the fight to end hunger locally and nationally.

Our VALUES:

Respect  We treat each person we encounter with dignity and compassion. We understand that respect is the foundation on which we build all relationships and values. We cannot nurture meaningful connections without respect.

Integrity  Our conduct is honorable on a daily basis. We do what we say.  We are open, honest, and trustworthy with each other, those we serve and those who support our work.

Passion  We are driven by enthusiasm and compassion for our neighbors in need. We are motivated to achieve our mission and provide our neighbors with opportunities to thrive.

Service  We are here to help. We inspire hopefulness in those we serve and in the community at large with a can-do attitude. We serve our neighbors, and we see that impact every day.

Commitment  We are unwavering in our duty to solve hunger. We translate passion into action through our work ethic. We develop and nurture loyal relationships with our partners and supporters.

Accountability  We act with responsibility and transparency. To reach our collective goals, we must be accountable to each other and everyone we encounter.

Diversity  We strive to be sensitive to the ethnic, cultural and social diversity of the communities we serve, and believe that diversity should be reflected in our staff, Board and network.
